Something fishy going on here....

Sunday, September 26, 2010
well, maybe some little ones at Half Moon Bay.
Vince decided to take us all fishing today -- yippee!  (insert sarcastic smile right about here :))
Here they are getting started:
Everyone is excited!  Vince bought them each their very own fishing poles!
or light saber... it's very versatile!
 The pier:
 Casting the first pole:
 The bait... fresh squid!

 Big sis helping out:

One of our fishing neighbors gave us his fish...
So the boys had some fun with them!
 Look mom!
MG is determined to get her very own fish - forget the neighbors' donations!
The boys were content to play with the donated fish!

Then he finally caught his very own -- great job MD!!!!
Here it is... need a magnifying glass????
Again, boys didn't care... they played with them anyway!

And she's still determined to get her own...
When he became bored with the fish, he started to play with the bait!
And MG's determination may be paying off...

There you have it, baby girl finally got one!!!!!!
 Yahoo!!!!!!!!!
 In the bucket...
 Out of the bucket????
It was time to go home so we had to decide what we were going to do...
That one fish knew it wanted to go back into the water...
MD voted for the fish to go home.

MG wanted them to return to the water.
Boys won the vote... the fish came home with us.

We were too tired to cook this evening, so we went out for Vietnamese food in San Mateo.  The fish are in the frig... waiting for Vince to fry them up... all 7 of them (hee hee, I know, what a feast that's going to be!).  They had so much fun today.  Well worth it.  It was hot in San Jose, so driving to HMB was worth it.  It's going to be 93 tomorrow... wow, a few more days of heat!

Happy Father's Day!

Monday, June 21, 2010
We had an exhausting day Sunday... but I shouldn't complain since I didn't do any work!  Poor Vince.. what a father's day he had!
See what I mean:

Yes, the Sripatis joined us!  That's Srikanth trying to figure out what the heck to do with those oars!
And there he rows!  According to Marailee, while we were rowing away, Kiran and Nikash were yelling at Srikanth to catch up to us because we were getting away!
On our boat, the children wanted to have a go... so they did while we waited for the Sripatis to catch up.
They rowed in a circle!  (Better than I would have done, if i tried, I'm sure!  But I didn't even bother trying!)  Yes, I sat back and watched them power away at that boat.  I've never rowed a boat before and wouldn't have a clue how to begin!  So I let my Eagle Scout husband take the lead and row me safely somewhere out of the water.  I watched and took pictures.  Every now and then E came and sat next to me.  He didn't care to row so it all worked out!

Finally sat down for lunch!  It took the children a while to even sit down.  They were so excited to be off the boat!  Then they found sticks and began making fishing poles.  Of course, they tried fishing... and supposedly, they saw crayfishes too!  So they wanted to catch a few of those.  Matthew, upon hearing about crayfishes, had to tell the story of when he had pet crayfishes.. that he then ate for dinner!  Oh... that's another post!  I'll just tease you all about it now... This happened a t least a year ago!
They played:

These two became quick friends again -- so cute!
He did his usual thing:
They were even able to fish with this family!
Then back we went...for a tour of the island and surrounding coves...

Proof I was there too:

Upon returning our boats, we went for a mini-walk (they called it a hike!).  They played some more...
I love this man:
Our day ended with a yummy dinner at the Sripatis' house.  Although Vince worked hard rowing all day - I think he had a relaxing day with the children.  This was a wonderful place to go.  The weather was perfect and I really felt relaxed on the row boat!  We will do this again for sure!  I think Vince may plan a fishing trip for the next time.  :)
The children made him a book -- some great letters... pictures to come!

It didn't go as planned...

Friday, May 7, 2010
Last Saturday, May 1, 2010 MG and I had to work at the school's walk-a-thon and the boys wanted to go fishing.. so we split up!  Vince took the boys for the day (mom decided to accompany him).  MG and I left the house by 8 AM... a bit sleepy eyed... Nothing much exciting happened while setting up for the school's walk-a-thon... but plenty of excitement for the boys... kind of.
You are not seeing things, that is NOT a fish... and the boys did NOT fish after all.
When E came home, he told me he touched a "rock crab."  So cute!
They had packed and gathered everything necessary to fish... but the season was not right for what they wanted to do.  The pier was empty except for some people who were out crabbing and even that was slow!  So they had a fun day walking around and visiting with others who were crabbing.  I'm not sure what they did in detail though...

But these photos show that some fun events took place!

Good thing they didn't bring her home -- they are the same size!!!

He loves riding statues!  Where ever we go, he finds them and has a seat!  You should see him at the entrance of Happy Hollow!  Oh my!!!  Let me just say that there are statues everywhere!

This was the only photo he allowed mom to take -- not sure what he's doing!
E and Ma

It was a  fun day for everyone!  MG and I had some bonding time.  We had a nice visit with Matt and Leo -- Matt made us a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and biscuits.  Then we went driving to scope out some garage sales.  We found a free cozy coupe for E!  Then we went home, sat on the couch, and had ice cream! What more could I ask for???
