They are getting ripe!!!!
More ended up in his mouth than in his bowl!

He was not interested in picking.  He wanted to help Uncle Jim clean the concrete blocks.  They are getting a new fence!

An update....

Monday, June 7, 2010
We have been so busy!
Morgan finished first grade very successfully.  This is what her teacher had to say:
"Morgan is an excellent student and learns quickly!  She shows responsibility by staying on task - seeking challenges, being a wonderful partner and turning in quality work!"

The day before the last day of school we brought in treats to celebrate her 7th (gasp!!!) birthday with her class.  Summer birthdays are tricky!
This is Mrs. Rosete:
Her friends:
Kayla, Keilana, and Mai E.

Issac, Rachel, Gabriel, Jasmine, Leah, and Roman
Hiba, Jorja, Dorothea, and Brandon
Nicole, Mai M., Monserrath, and Melanie
and her buddy Nevaeha from Kindergarten.

The next day was the last day of school and her class, along with the second graders had a field day.  They played various games -- most involved getting wet, wet, wet!
This was a funny game -- objective: get a sponge and sit on it!  Yep, that's it!

Duck duck goose -- but using a sponge on the head rather than just a hand!

Pass the sponge over the head -- squeeze it out at the end into a bucket -- winning team is the one who gets most water into their team bucket first.  They didn't get it at first, so they each took a turn squeezing it over their heads and then passing it back.  We were laughing so hard at them.  So funny!!!
Matthew joined them in a few games too!
They had to race wearing BIG men's shoes!  Talk about flopping around!
Her last day was a short one -- only half a day.  Afterwards, we all headed over to the nearby park and played some more!
Jenna came too!
E loves sweets!
 Finally.. a moment to relax...
The next day we celebrated Matthew graduating from preschool!
The flag salute:
They recited their favorite snack time poem:
We love the trees, we love the sky, we love the birds that fly so high,
We love the sun and rain you know, because they help the earth to grow,
We love our friends at work and play, and hope you have a lovely day.
They sang a song about a worm (couldn't really undertand it!) -- the red yarn is the worm!
My goofy boy!
Then diplomas were handed out:
A class photo:
We love Mrs. Gardner!!!!
His buddies:
Evan, Danny, and Braden
He and Braden get along well and we've had many play dates together.
My baby -- so handsome and so grown up!
The next day, while daddy was working at a wedding, we played!  We celebrated Dominique's birthday.  I was so busy chatting with other parents that I didn't really take photos!  They had fun:
He's really loving the fact that he can blow his own bubbles now!
His girl friends, Vanessa and Jada!
Sunday Vince had some time to play with us!  So we packed up the car and went to Half Moon Bay for a few hours.  It was a lovely day!  The weather was perfect - cool but not cold... warm, but not hot.
He loved digging and discovering.
And playing with his dump truck.
Then MD and daddy took off to explore the tide pools.
Zooming in to what what they had discovered - probably a hermit crab.
Back to where we are at.  MG is making a sand castle and E is watching how she is doing it.
I look back and this is what I see... I zoomed in....
OH!  E is ready to do that too.  "I go to daddy now!"
Then there goes my two explorers...
What's that?  More kelp?  Seaweed?  Another hermit crab?
I don't care what you see -- I just want to get wet!!!
Fast forward... see his new outfit?  Well, long story short - he fell in!  Yes, he fell in!  Oh well.. that's why we brought a change of clothes, right?!
And look what we saw finally?  The harbor seals finally made their way to the beach -- the area was sectioned off and my camera is not that great so zooming in can only show you so much.  It looks like a bunch of brown blobs huh?
And this little fella wanted to say hi!  Hello!!!
What a wonderful week we had...  now we are relaxing, waking up late, running errands, and waiting for swim lessons to begin next week!  But this week is full already -- more play dates, birthday celebrations, piano lesson, and getting ready to drive down to Santa Barbara for my cousin's graduation!

A funny story

Saturday, June 5, 2010
I'm not sure if I should be proud about this... but I suppose it only reaffirms to me that he's on his way to reading a lot more!

On Thursday we were helping at MG's school with field day.  MD needed to go to the bathroom so I pick up E and run to the school's bathroom.  I am in a stall with E.  MD is in his own stall.  Everyone is doing their thing.  Then I hear MD.  "Mommy, what does a-s-s say?"  I guess he was reading the graffiti on the bathroom door!  I responded, "Hmm... I'm not sure, why don't you hurry it up so we can go?"  "Okay," he responds.  Then I get E out and we are washing our hands.  Then I hear MD again.  He is still in the stall and he's sounding out the word!  "Aaaaaaasssssssssssssssssss.  Mom, it says ass," he says to me.  "Oh," I say.  Then he responds, "Or it says acccce."  "Hmm, maybe, let's get going," I respond.  He quickly finishes up and washes his hands.

And that my friend was the end of that.  Isn't it great when they discover new skills?!
