Jenna spent the day with us Friday and the second she arrived they were all busy doing things -- the story of the Quach children lives! Jenna arrived at 7:15 AM at the house!
By 10:15 AM we were out of the house and at the park! We met Becky and her girls. We had not seen them for months! It was amazing for me to see how much the girls had grown since we last saw each other! Emma is here with Jenna and MG -- she will be 7 on August 10 -- 2 days after MG turns 7!
Here's Audrey! She will be 3 on July 3... She's full of laughs!
This is Sydney -- she and MD played really well together. She will be 5 in October.
They were busy for awhile doing something....
Then Morgan came over and took this photo to show me what they had made! (A bird's nest they say.)
By 2:00 PM, we headed off to Becky's school garden and harvested some fruits and vegetables!
Strawberries:
Quite a basket already!
E was gone for awhile... then I found him contently eating these - can you guess what they are?
Snap peas! (see background of this photo)
MD and Jenna still harvesting -- it may look like a small plant but there was plenty on the vines to be picked!
Then they moved on to these here... blackberries! YUM! The ripe ones were so sweet we ate them off the vines before they made them into the containers. They were a bit prickly with thorns --unlike Uncle Jim's.
Becky's mom and dad were working on the garden before we arrived. Walter asked if we wanted to harvest something... can you guess what by looking at these photos?
You dig them up...
Shake off the dirt:
And you have yourselves some potatoes!!! I was so excited to see them! I have never actually seen potatoes harvested! Hey -- if my dad were around I'm sure he would have grown these with the children. I never thought to do it! We had a bag full to take home and share with Jenna. It was the one item she agreed she would take home. She did not seem to like anything else, but I give her kudos for trying everything!
And check out these fresh garlic bulbs! LOVE them! Mine are hanging outside now to dry...
The last thing we picked were these interesting looking carrots before we left the garden. They were so fat and plump!
We arrived home at 4:30 PM... Jenna's mom was waiting on the driveway! We had a full day and the children were sticky, dirty, and exhausted! Wow -- it was an awesome day!
